Still more to come...
I'm still working on the big Tangled research project, but I found another graphic that I made years ago. This one shows the various versions of Rapunzel that had been shown at that point (2009).

Still coming up..
I'm still working on the Tangled post, but I found this on my external hard drive from years ago. When Rapunzel's picture was shown at D23 2009, I made a comparison chart to other characters I thought she kind of resembled.
Just a fun throw-back!

The Prince and the Pig
The director of the
upcoming Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Rian Johnson, had written an
"epic poem" about a prince and his pet pig while he was a student at
USC. Reported on July 17, 2003, Disney paid 6-figures for the pitch,
and were going to make The Prince and the Pig into an animated
film. The plot of the poem was the prince and pig go on an adventure to
either steal the moon or steal a piece of the moon. Jane Goldenring was
slated to be the film’s producer. Disney’s VP of Creative Affairs, Leo
Chu, and Director of Creative Affairs, Karen Rupert, were slated to be
supervisors on the film.
In 2011, students in the Commercial Arts program at Blue Ridge Community and Technical College had an assignment to design posters for this movie! And a DeviantArt user made a poster for a "Disney movies that could have been" contest!

Lafiya
On June 16, 2003, it was announced that Elizabeth Hunter,
who wrote THE FIGHTING TEMPTATIONS, was hired by Disney to write LAFIYA.
It was going to be an animated story of a girl in Africa. Honor
Hunter (of Blue Sky Disney) said that the movie would take place in the African
plains. Brian Linder (of IGN) said that the word "lafiya" means
"health," "security," or "well-being" in the
Hausa language (a language spoken in West Africa). Poster Toonimator (of
DrawingBoard) thought that the story was about freed zoo animals, which
probably was actually THE WILD.

Welcome!
Hi everyone! Welcome to the Animation Research Avenue! I have been working on and off on this project for many years. A few years ago, I posted one single post on animationresearchcorner.blogspot.com, and never revisited it. That one post will be posted here, as will many others!
My passion has always been Disney and Pixar animation. My favorite topic is the production of Disney and Pixar films, including ones that never ended up being produced.
The goal of this blog is to gather information on these films in one spot.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions, comments, or concerns at Animation.Research.Avenue@gmail.com!
